The Zone

The crater of an ancient meteor that gave way to a lush ecosystem. This site is a protected wildlife reserve although it is rumored there are more human residents within albeit a bit...feral. Covered in thick forest, locals of Neo Avalon affectionately call this place “The Bowl” given its resemblance to a large bowl full of broccoli when the forest is in full bloom.  Outside the rim of the crater is an observation post studying the greenery and wildlife that’s continued to mutate, there’s also a military base nearby to help keep a more regular hold of anything that might try and escape there as not everything has been fully studied and catalogued.  Neo Avalon is a rural spread of towns along a main road that leads in and goes around the crater - with all the locals being avid outdoors folk, and hunters.  People who prefer to be left alone and to their own devices.
